For those food and beverages entrepreneur, communicating with customer and food preparation are arts, too. So, the phrase “life is an art” is technically proven. At Taman Mount Austin, Johor Bahru there is a very special Japanese cuisine “Art” restaurant – from the food to interior design, even the selfie of the customers can be an art for them (as long as they approve it). And that piece of art is eligible to be hung on the “art wall” in the restaurant. This “art wall” is pretty special as it is the one and only wall in the house that having art pieces on it, while others are just plain. “ FOOD LESS, HEALTHY BEST; NOT ENOUGH, RICE ON THE HOUSE” is the slogan for LOVE OF TASTE. They are emphasizing on the healthy way of eating, which is eating more with less portion. This is why you may notice their food portion is somewhat limited. As an art person, they even invented their own Japanese words – “tan zen”. Shin zen means the meal with the combination of three bowls of foods, its portion is actually the same as a meal portion out there, just like the Spain’s Tapas. Such arrangement only come with one purpose – eating less and healthy but not stuffing customers with food just to earn the penny. As LOVE OF TASTE always says:
A bowl of noodle: pay less, the portion is just right.

Other than setting the extraordinary rules of meal portion, LOVE OF TASTE set meal is being named in a special way, too. For example: Single person meal in is named as “happy single meal, two person meals is named as “the lover meal”, three person meals is named as “the light bulb” while the four person meals is named as “happy family” and so on.

SMOKE DUCK SUSHI
Traditional smoke duck is being prepared by scorching it with stove fire. But LOVE OF TASTE’s smoke duck sushi is even better than that, by using smoking gun to smoke the duck. The aroma is said to be few times richer than the traditional one!

NEW STYLE SASHIMI
虽然新鲜的生鱼片是没什么味道,但由于生鱼片有一种让一部分的人难以下咽的口感,导致许多人都不喜欢吃生鱼片。为了克服这一点,LOVE OF TASTE使用橄榄油混合麻油再利用高温烫热生鱼片的表面,解决了那“难以下咽”的口感问题。此外,他们也是用比较fusion的手法,以青木瓜丝取代了传统的萝卜丝。原因是青木瓜丝比起萝卜丝更加香脆有口感,同时也解决了“装饰品”被“打入冷宫”的厄运。
NEW STYLE SASHIMI
Even though sashimi doesn’t has much flavor, its texture is somewhat making us difficult to put it through our throat. This is why most of us never eat sashimi. The creative LOVE OF TASTE is overcoming this weakness by painting the sashimi surface with olive oil and sesame oil and then scorching the surface with high temperature. Besides, they are using “fusion” way of preparing this sashimi by replacing carrot slices with the green papaya slices. The reason is green papaya has better gustatory advantage and crispier as compared to the carrot, which further eliminate its “fate” from being the thrown away side dish.

NAGANO STYLE • LOCAL STEAM FISH
By using the fresh local fish, combining with the Japan shinshu style of steaming method, this will further enhancing the umame flavor and tenderness of the fish.
LOVE OF TASTE冰咖啡的制作方式其实挺简单容易明白,但是会比较费工夫。首先,把煮好的咖啡凝固成冰。放入了杯子以后加上35-40度的热牛奶来融化咖啡冰。为了让顾客更能享受冰咖啡的香味,LOVE OF TASTE使用干冰来调合并降低冰咖啡的温度,减低了咖啡冰融化的速度,进而能确保咖啡在喝完之前都一直散发着迷人的咖啡香气。
LOVE OF TASTE MAIN BEVERAGE
It is a must for you to try LOVE OF TASTE ice coffee as you are there for food.
The way of making LOVE OF TASTE ice coffee is pretty easy actually but quite time consuming. Firstly, freeze the coffee into ice and putting them into the glass. Secondly, pour the 35-40 degree hot milk into the glass to melt the coffee ice. In order to allow more of the customer to enjoy the coffee aroma, LOVE OF TASTE has used dried ice to lower the ice’s temperature which in turn increasing the time needed to melt the ice. Such method is crucial so that the fragrance of the coffee is long lasting.
