GV Cinemas Sdn Bhd (TGV Cinemas) is a wholly-ownedsubsidiary of Tanjong Public Limited Company. Since its inception in 1995, TGVCinemas has not only grown to become one of Malaysia’s premier film exhibitioncompanies but has also established a name as a pioneer in the cinema industry.TGV Cinemas revolutionised the movie-going experience by being the first tointroduce the multiplex concept, offering Malaysians a wide array of movieswithin one location.


As part of TGV Cinemas’ commitment to ensure the ultimatecinema-going experience, it undertook a transformation exercise in 2010 and sawits new generation of multiplexes sporting a fresh look and feel. Consequently,TGV Cinemas in Ipoh, The Mines, Bukit Raja Klang, Sunway Pyramid, KLCC and 1Utama, which is their flagship outlet were refurbished, hence adopting a morewelcoming, vibrant and contemporary ambience. Some of the cinema halls wereredesigned and renovated to maximise the space making way for more comfortableseats with wider leg room. Also added were plush twin seats equipped withprivacy wings for those who value their own space.


Aside from the facelift, TGV Cinemas is also completely 100%digital. Cinema-goers can enjoy unmatched brightness, sharpness and superiorimages in 2D, 3D as well as 3D-X. Therefore, TGV Cinemas can now displayhigh-definition content – 2K, 4K and 3D feature films, documentaries andalternative content in superior quality.


In line with TGV Cinemas’ goal to stretch the boundaries ofcinematic experience, TGV Cinemas embarked on various initiatives to enhancethe movie-watching experience and further etch its brand as industry leader.



TGV’s Beanie is Malaysia’s first innovative concept cinemawhich features comfortable and colourful beanbags (as opposed to seats)offering patrons a cozy and relaxed environment to enjoy their favourite movie.


TGV Cinemas’ exclusive partnership with IMAX® Corporationoffers movie-goers a truly immersive cinematic experience, allowing them toenjoy blockbusters movies like never before. IMAX®’s cutting-edge projectionsystem, which delivers crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX®'s customisedtheatre geometry and powerful digital sound system, creates a uniqueenvironment that will make the viewer feel as if they are in the movie. Togetherwith IMAX® Corporation, TGV Cinemas launched their first IMAX theatre in TGVSunway Pyramid, and the second in TGV 1 Utama. By the end of 2013, TGV Cinemaswill have two more IMAX theatres in TGV Tebrau, Johor and TGV Gurney Paragon,Penang respectively.

Today, TGV Cinemas is the owner and operator of 22 premiermultiplexes located in major shopping centres in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor,Seremban, Ipoh, Penang, Johor Bahru and Terengganu with a total of over 184screens and more than 32,000 seats.
